CVS has free soyjoys next week-Yum! A lot of people don't like these-but my family eats them-the pink wrapper ones are the best-you can make $1 profit if you go here to print a coupon (have to purchase 5).

There is a limit of 5 deals per household...so deal scenario:

1st transaction: Buy 8 bars-use $1 coupon-pay $7 out of pocket (unless have extra bucks).
2nd transaction: Buy 8 bars-use $1 coupon (will need to get something else for $1) and give $8 EB=FREE
Then you are left with $8 extra buck-which I wouldn't prefer because I have a hard time spending that much!

So I would do 5 different transactions-yeah a pain for the cashier-but some are really nice and don't mind-If there is a line behind me I let them go first and wait...

So 1st transaction: Buy 4 bars-pay $4 out of pocket (unless you have EB to spend)
2nd transaction: Buy 4 bars use $4 EB=FREE
3rd transaction: Buy 4 bars use $4 EB=FREE

Get the idea!! I would do it 2 more times and then be left over with $4 EB and have 20 soy joy bars so even if you don't use the $4 EB you still got a great deal at .20 a bar...Even if you don't like these they are good to put up for food storage! And if they are all out of the flavor you want get a raincheck!

Use $3 RR
=amount paid for filler item

If you don't need water then use the $3 RR at Publix!

I had a hard time last time I tried to get trial sizes for free at Target but wasn't in the mood to argue with the cashier so just brought up the coupons to the customer service desk and they gave me the money back for the coupons!

But other things I have got for free in trial sizes-at CVS the Schick disposable razors are free after coupons (they were .97 and I had a $2 coupon and it went through so $1 overage!), Hefty one zip travel bags are .97 and there is a $1 coupon so those are free at CVS, I've got Johnson's First Aid Kits free, travel size huggies wipes for free (there are coupons for $1 off Huggies Bath & Body Product that I get in the mail), Dove facial wipes free ($1 coupons for Dove face wash product)....and tons more-just scope out your trial size aisles at the stores and you'll be surprised what you get for free....as long as the coupon doesn't say "exclude trial sizes" you can use the coupon! And of course I love to get my Johnson Buddies Soap for free (after $1 coupon for Johnson & Johnson product). They are .97 at Walmart & Target.

I keep forgetting to post the great deal at Food Lion this week! You can get 6 double rolls (which makes 12 regular rolls) of Quilted Northern toilet paper for 1.27 (after taxes) if you have the $1 coupon from the 4/26 RP insert-great deal! That is .12 a roll! I only had 1 coupon but luckily they were all out so I got a raincheck that I will save until I get more coupons but still a great deal without coupon-they are 4.29 each and BOGO and you just have to buy 1 to get the deal (which will be 1/2 off). I usually don't pay more than .25 for a regular size roll of toilet paper...and I don't pay more than .50 a roll for paper towels.

Winn-Dixie has Arnold's bread BOGO (you can call them and they send out coupons once a year), and Ronzoni Smart Taste Pasta is BOGO and there is $1 coupon from the 4/5 SS insert which would make them around .15 a box if you have 2 coupons!

Another good deal to be found at Publix…Hefty Storage and Freezer Bags are $1.79 for 13 and 17 bags respectively. There is a Smart Source coupon in front of them for $1.00. In addition, the publix at the beach uses the peelie on them for an additional $.20 off. Final cost…$.59! The coupon is good until 9/30/09 so grab a few extra to use in the next few months!

I was at Walmart tonight and they had some kid clothing for $1.00. Most of it was for babies, works if you want to up them up for presents; cheap and they had some cute ones. There were a few boys clothing, I think the biggest size I saw was 4T. A few little girls things, like shirts and some cropped leggings. You have to walk around the baby section a little bit, but for a $1.00 you can't bet it.

Another good site which I always buy certain things from is www.cosmesticcop.com . Her name is Paula Begoun and she has an article in the Sunday paper every week about makeup. She makes her own line and it is very inexpensive. I buy the blush, and sunscreen lotion/moisturizer. It is a 6 oz. tube and sells for about $15. I wear it everyday under my makeup. I am going to get the AHA/BHA products next for exfoliating your skin. I tried to get a group of people together to place an order for $250. If you place an order for $250, you would get future orders at 40% off retail with a minimum purchase of $100. Wouldn’t it be nice to get a group of girls together to place an order a couple times a year? She also wrote several books called “Don’t Go To The Cosmetic Counter Without Me”. Her products are fully guaranteed and are very reasonable and large quantity tubes.

Was up in Jax today. Anyone looking for a good middle eastern food store should go to the one on SR 13 near Baymeadows Rd. I bought FRESH pita bread for $1.85 and the ingredients to make homemade hummus. YUM YUM!! After I make my Publix run tonight, I will make some. I have a recipe from an old Lebanese woman that is fantastic!

Library Summer Activities!

The Library for the first time is doing storytime in the summer...just for June and July...starts this Thursday...Baby Time is at 10:15, and Storytime is at 11:00 at the Main Library-this is the only branch as far as I know that is doing the storytime.

Their summer reading program starts now! So go in the library and pick up a bag and start keeping the reading log...each time your child reads or you read to your child you mark in on the chart and for every 5 days your child gets a prize...last year they had free food items...such as free kid's meal from Chick Fil A, free hamburger at McDonald's...The summer program at the Main Library is every Tuesday at 2 pm and you can view all the upcoming events here! All St Johns County Branches participate and it is at different times/days which you can view on the website.

Barnes & Nobles has storytime every Wednesday at 10:30 here in St. Augustine. You can view the times/days for the ones in Jacksonville here. They also have a great summer reading program-if you child reads 8 books they get a free book! Go here to find out more details!

TARGET

I went to Target today...if you haven't used your Kraft 1.50 coupons from the coupon insert then you should now! Target has $1 off coupon you can print online or in the store and the dressings are 1.89...I got 5 today and made a profit of $3!

I also had $1 off Hefty trash bags and $1 off Target coupon...so got 80 13 gallon trash bags for $5...not an awesome deal but still cheaper than buying regularly.

If you have coupons still for Dove facial product $1 off you can get the face wipes in the travel aisle for free (they are .97)...

Target brand cream of chicken soup is about .20 a can cheaper than Wal-Mart-I always assume Wal-Mart is the cheapest!

And Target also has $1 coupons for Archer Farm's chips...which would make them 1.89 a bag (they go on sale often). You can view their coupons on their site or just print them from the kiosk where you print registries in the store and save on ink and paper!!

They have a lot of stuff on clearance too over by the patio stuff...I saw a box of diapers regularly $30 for $20 and they have other stuff...it is only marked at 15% off right now so I am sure it will go down more.

And I forgot to mention yesterday Wal-Mart had a grocery cart near the pharmacy that everything was .50-a lot of party items so if you have a birthday party coming up-you can stock up!

Simple Toe-rific Toe Rings!

If you host a party, you will get 10 percent of the sales in jewelry for yourself. I believe I am the only one doing them in St. Augustine. Homemade Laundry Soap

1/3 bar Fels Naptha or other type of soap, as listed above

½ cup washing soda

½ cup borax powder

~You will also need a small bucket, about 2 gallon size~

Grate the soap and put it in a sauce pan. Add 6 cups water and heat it until the soap melts. Add the washing soda and the borax and stir until it is dissolved. Remove from heat. Pour 4 cups hot water into the bucket. Now add your soap mixture and stir. Now add 1 gallon plus 6 cups of water and stir. Let the soap sit for about 24 hours and it will gel. You use ½ cup per load

The finished soap will not be a solid gel. It will be a watery gel or more like “egg drop soup”. It does not generate suds so it is OK for the new HE washers. I usually double the recipe. I have also made the “dry recipe” but the wet is so much cheaper and does the same thing!

Have any other homemade things that has saved you a lot...send me an email and I will post it! My husband makes his own cleaners-uses vinegar and water and makes one with lemon juice and water-that is cheap!

Scrapbook store going out of business

I saw that Scrapbook Heaven is going out of business. Everything is 50% off. It's a small store that's on 207 next to the railroad tracks, kind of by Osceola Elementary. Today was the first time I had stopped in there. They still have some good stuff, but sadly I haven't been able to scrapbook in a long time so I just couldn't justify buying any more cute stuff that will just sit there!

Coupon Policy at Publix

Today was the first day I had a problem using coupons at Publix (new cashier!), but I talked to the manager and she said they do not get reimbursed back for the register rewards from Walgreens and that you can use them, but only 1 competitor coupon per transaction...I asked for a written coupon policy and she said that don't have one and I have had managers use more than one competitor coupon before when they have checked me out...so they may all say something different but wanted you to be aware! She said you can use a competitor, manufacturer and publix coupon on the same item...that has not changed.

Publix doesn't have much on sale this week...

AMC's Summer Movie Camp!

AMC Entertainment has announced that their 2009 "Summer MovieCamp" series will begin on June 17, 2009 with Space Chimps. I freeze cookie dough, sticks of butter (which come in handy!), bread, milk, bananas, peaches, tortillas, bell peppers (cut them up in small pieces first-great for a pizza topping!), grapes (great snack!) and of course meat, and I keep my end pieces of bread or leftover waffles/pancakes in the freezer for when we go to feed the peacocks or ducks...freezing stuff really saves if you buy it when it is on sale (like stock up when bread, sticks of butter, or tortillas are buy one get one free). We have a chest freezer and love it!

These are the deals I found today:

At Walgreens Good Nights Boxers were marked down to 2.89 and I used my $1.50 coupon so what a deal! And they had huggies supreme refill pack marked down to 2.19 and had a coupon for $1 off so another great deal...sorry they only had 1 left of the wipes and I grabbed the last 3 diapers...the price wasn't marked right at the Walgreens on US 1 but it rang up that cheap...there is one over on the island, so not sure if they have the same deals or not. I also used my RR (register rewards) at Publix today with no problem...I made $1 off the deoderant they had on sale at Walgreens.

At Wal-Mart I used my Kraft BBQ coupons and got 4 free bottles...so print out that coupons if you haven't already! And I also got 3 Johnson Buddies Soap Bar free too. The coupons you get for $1 off any Johnson & Johnson product you can use on those...I love them-they keep my kids smelling good! And the Huggies Bath & Body Coupons you get, you can use those on wipes...it worked tonite at Target-I got the trial size ones for $1 which ended up being free minus the tax!

My Publix Shopping Trip!

I did great today...my total bill before coupons was $69.41 and after all my coupons I spent $25.81!! Yeah I looked like a mad woman with all my coupons but it saved me a ton! My total savings at Publix was $83.09! A lot of people don't shop at Publix thinking it is more expensive but I love it and save a ton! I buy in bulk at Wal-mart and buy stuff there I know that normally doesn't go on sale and I don't have to go to Wal-mart but every 3 weeks and that is just because I usually have to get something besides food! For $25 today I got 2 electrosal dish detergents, 6 packages of cascadian farms bars, 2 boxes of back to nature honey graham sticks, 3 packages of Publix frozen yogurt, a roast, a pork roast, 10 jars of Earth's Best baby food, 2 packages of shick quattro razor refills (which were free, I had Target coupons and manufacturer coupons and a rain check from last week, actually made profit), 2 packages of 100 calorie snack box (which were free with target coupon and manufacturer coupon, I had a rain check from last week), 2 lbs baby cut carrots, 2 packages of soft taco wraps, bananas and I think that is it! I am very lucky to have a VERY GOOD little girl to shop with! Publix's car grocery cart, free cookie and free balloon helps but she is such a great little shopper!

I went to Walgreens today and they have a booklet on their counter and their cosmetic counter with good coupons, 1 being for .15 prints which expire 6/30/09 so that is good to have-I had to get a rain check this week because our photo machine was down but that doesn't expire so that coupon find was great! Walgreens has a lot of food on clearance also-it was pretty cleaned out-but I got a few things to put up for food storage-like sardines for .30 that expire 2013...yummy!! They also had "beauty" stuff on clearance pretty cheap...soaps, body wash, lotion, sanitizer...make a great gift! And they wouldn't let me use the $2 coupon for the diapers because it says not valid with any other offer and it would scan so I didn't get any great deals there this week!

I went to CVS and did the glucose meter which I think is great to have handy in case of emergencies and made $5! Very easy money maker this week!

That was all I found this week! Oh yeah if you haven't done KFC yet-you still have until the 19th but make sure you fill out the form and give them your coupon so they can mail it and you can save a stamp!

On the right side, you will find helpful things about St Augustine...cheap places to shop, websites, cheap gift certificates (from the St. Augustine Record) and FREE/cheap things to do around here...by the way there is a De Leon Pizza $10 gift certificate for $5 on there right now, I just bought a few-you pick it free at the Record in the lobby or have it shipped which costs $3-this is the first time I have bought anything from their store but it is a great deal for me since we go every Wednesday ($1 slice night). It is located in the Ponce Mall but will be moving to the new movie theatre in July...

In the middle are random posts about deals or helpful information! And I try to go back and delete old posts that way it isn't too cluttered and everything that is posted is helpful!

It takes a lot of time to get the hang of things-but it is way worth it-the last thing that I saved a lot was at Publix-my grocery bill was about $110 and I walked out of there spending about $37 after all my coupons and I even got a huggies box of diapers, bag of pullups, wipes, and TONS of food so it really pays off!

Redbox FYI

The word is out that you can take home new release DVDs for only a $1 per night from the big red box. We know you know, because you've saved that dollar as part of redbox' Free Movie Mondays promotion, which is ending after May 11.

at Walgreens Campbell's pork and beans are .50 each, and after you complete your purchase it prints out a $1 off 4 cans so I did it several times because it kept printing it each time...I went to the one across from the hospital. And like mentioned in a different post I made $1 off of the toothpaste since it was free and got deoderant free.

at Target....If you purchase 4 particpating Fiber One products you get $5 gift card...the bars and cereal are 2.39 and I had coupons so afterwards it was about $1.60 for everything-can't beat that! You can go here to get coupons:

This may be old news for some of you...but I finally asked tonite at Target and you can print out their coupons in the store for free! It is on the same computer where you look at the registries...it's easy to find...you can ask for help if you need to but you can print out as many as you like and as far as I know (I haven't personally tried it) you can use the coupons at Publix...but Target has great deals on Nabisco snacks right now and they have a $1 off coupon that you can print...there is also a Planter's Nuts coupon for $1 off which I'd print and save for when they go BOGO again at Publix...

And don't forget to check Publix's circular (where the ads are) for coupons...they have good ones right now!
