USA 5K Family Fun Fair
Join the University of St. Augustine for a great time to get out in the community, meet some new people, and support a good cause! The 10th Annual University of St. Augustine 5K Run/Walk and Family Fun Fair event is Saturday, October 24th. The 5K run/walk begins at 8 am, and after the race join us for the FREE family fun fair, with a moonwalk, fun slide, obstacle course, basketball shootout, face painting, super-hero appearances, fire-rescue trucks, life guard and beach safety, lots of free food and great music. So on Saturday, October 24th, come out early and participate in the 5K, then stay and enjoy the Family Fun Fair. Participation in the 5K is not required. Last year this event helped raise over $8,000 for Project Special Care, a group that provides advocacy, care and therapy for children and young adults who are facing challenges and/or crisis in their life. Over 500 people participated in this community-wide event promoting healthy living. The event is held on the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences’ campus, located east of Flagler Hospital.

Ancient City Kids Day! Attention Parents! Looking for something fun to do with your kids that doesn’t cost a lot of money? Then the 14th Annual Ancient City Kids Day is for you! Ancient City Kids Day will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2009 from 11am-4pm at Francis Field on Castillo Drive. This event, coordinated by local agencies, is a day of fun-filled activities for children and families. Free for the public! Over 40 youth service agencies will offer carnival style games and activities, arts and crafts, contests for the kids and entertainment all day. There will also be new and exciting vendors and exhibits! No child will leave empty-handed as t-shirts, prizes or goodies are given out all day. Educational information on resources in our community is available for parents. The only cost to the public will be for food or drinks. Ancient City Kids Day has grown to be one of St. Augustine’s biggest youth activities, and is a popular event for the whole family.
