A Long Nutrition Tip!

I know some of us try to make our kids eat healthy & this post is my own opinion but saw this in the Kiwi magazine today so wanted to share-my sis taught me what to look for when I was buying food & these are a few red flag ingredients that if you see you shouldn't buy:

Yellow No. 5, No. 6, No. 13 (artificial dyes implicated in behavioral issues)
Red No. 3, No. 7, No. 40 (same as above)
Blue No. 2 (artificial dye considered a possible carcinogen)
Sodium Benzoate (a preservative)
Hydrogenated Oils (the source of harmful transfats)
Nitrites, Found in Cured Meats (a possible carcinogen)
Butylated Hydroxyanisole or BHA (a possible carcinogen)

You'll be surprised at what you find these in-even medicine & vitamins! I try to get medicine for my kids at the Discount store particularly Hyland's brand since it has no expiration date.

I was with a friend the other day & she brought vegetables for a snack & she made the comment they'll eat it here because it's all I have & that is really true-your kids will eat whatever you buy! They aren't going to starve! I have started at such a young age with my kids to not buy "junk"-I've never bought any kids cereal like Lucky Charms, Fruity Pebbles...I buy organic stuff from the discount store ($1.50 a box) or I get Kashi Cereal & my kids love it! I don't even know how they eat some of the things they do! But it's all they know! I love seeing their face light up when they go to their Nana's & get "junk" because it is a treat for them! & I get to enjoy my fav cereal Cookie Crisp too! Now, my personal opinion is it's ok to eat unhealthy stuff "sometimes" just not on a daily basis-I think that kid's behavior will be better & their brain will function better & just thinking I am feeding them possible carcinogens is enough for me to feed them healthy-I am in control in that & feel like it is my responsibility to give them the proper nutrition. Obviously not all days, my kids are willingly to eat all their veggies, but for the most part they are! I've always found nutrition to be very interesting to learn about so if you have some time research some stuff! There are a lot of organic or just normal snacks that don't have those ingredients in them-it's just take a little extra time to look-but I find boxes of Annie Homegrown's crackers for .99 a box at the discount store which are sooooo yummy & Newman's Own Organic Low Fat Fig Newtons for cheap too (which is a snack I hide & keep to myself!!) & I get organic mac & cheese from there which we eat for lunch sometimes. And I stock up when Kashi bars are cheap & some flavors are yummy! I use to think "the good snacks" were nasty but I've found a ton of things that are so good! Some people think it's too expensive to eat healthy but it's not when you stock up when it's on sale-like last week at Publix I got Cascadian Farm organic frozen fruit for .32 a bag! These are great for making smoothies! I make smoothies a lot with fruit & carrots in them-& I have my son trained! One day I gave my son a toaster strudel (I had got for free) for breakfast with some fruit & when I gave it to him he said, mom this is not healthy! & another time my son asked for a milkshake so I made him one and when he was drinking it, he said, "Is carrots and fruit in here?" And I said, yeah carrots, bananas, strawberries, milk and ice cream (yogurt), and he said in a mad voice, "why did you put ice cream in here? ice cream is not healthy!" he use to complain if I put carrots in there-what a health nut-you won't hear many kids say that!! We are all very rarely sick too which I think eating healthy has A LOT to do with!

I know this was a long post-sorry!

Just a quick little tip about Publix-if you go in to get an item that is out of stock & your coupon expires in a couple of days-just bring it up to the customer service desk, get a raincheck & they will write on their that you can still use your coupon even if it is expired (another reason I love shopping at Publix!), I was also told tonite by the customer service manager, that they can take Publix store coupons up to 1 week after the expiration. This probably depends on your individual store so you can always ask first. If you don't like the answer you get, ask to talk to a manager so you know for sure!

Gatorland Admission for FL Residents

Now through May 2nd, FL residents can get admission to Gatorland for only $9.99

**Gatorland is a one-of-a-kind, protected habitat for man and beast where adventures lurk around every corner! Internationally known as the Alligator Capital of the World, Gatorlands 110-acre theme park and nature conservatory is located in Central Florida at the head of the Florida Everglades.

Thanks Who Said Nothing in Life Is Free!

I saw on their website that military, even retired get in free until May 31st! And teachers get in free with one guest this month only.

Cheap Candy Bars at Big Lots!

I was in Big Lots tonite & they had candy bars 3 for $1 or .50 each if anyone needs any! Unfortunately, they do not accept coupons.

If you are on the lookout for natural and organic product coupons, I think I may have hit the jackpot! Earth Fare now has $85 worth of web coupons available on their site here! Lots of these coupons are manufacturer’s coupons– which means you can use them at other stores. Also, most of these coupons have pretty long expiration dates, so we’ll have plenty of time to make use of them.

Here are a few highlights:

$1/1 Seventh Generation Product
$1/1 Cascadian Farms Frozen Fruit
$1/1 Cascadian Farms Granola Bars
$1/2 Kashi Products
$1/2 Bags of Kettle Chips
$0.50/1 Organic Valley Cheese

Thanks It's Hip 2 Save!

Publix has the Cascadian Farm on sale this week! Some say Reedemable at Earth Fare only, so not sure if Publix will accept those.

Garage Sales!

Heritage Park's Community yard sale is this Saturday-there are 6 neighborhoods here (where I live!)-this may be one of the last community ones for a while so I would try to come! I just do the community ones to save on gas driving all around St Augustine! I LOVE yard sales-I have been lucky finding nice name brand clothes for my girls for .25-$1 each. Most .25 & .50! I have paid $1 for Gap jeans but I think it is worth it! I have been to several yard sales where they ask $2-$4 for each piece & walk away if you see that unless you are just absolutely in love with it! I just don't even look because I know another house will have it for .25 or .50 each. But this saves me SO MUCH money getting my girl's clothes there. At Betty Griffin 2T & under are .50 each & above that is $1 each & you have to dig there but sometimes you get lucky!

Another yard sale tip-you really never know what you are going to find-I found this cute dress up furniture for my daughter which is perfect for her & her room since it is all white furniture-she loves looking at herself in the mirror & loves dressing up & it was only $10! I know I can resale it for the same price when I decide to get rid of it or even more! & I found 2 practically new pier one bar stools for $15 (for both of them!) & we love them!!

You can also buy things & fix them up & sell them on craigslist to get a profit! So just keep your eye out!

But I very seldom pay full price for toys-I buy them at garage sales or craigslist & use them & then re sell them sometimes for the same price I purchased them for, sometimes for more to get a little profit-but this really helps us to save! You can even get lucky & find clothes for you!

Most of my house is furnished from garage sales or craigslist!

Storytime!

The last storytime at most of the libraries will be tomorrow & will not start again until September! But the Main Library will be doing storytimes in June & July-if you go to the children's desk, you can find out more information & get a copy of the calendar-they have lots of fun activities coming up!!

ACTIVITIES AT THE LIBRARIES TOMORROW!

Wednesday, April 28 @ 3:00 PM It's an early release day, so come to the Library and learn about amazing reptiles when the Alligator Farm brings their amazing animal friends TO YOU @ your library! ANASTASIA BRANCH

Wednesday, April 28 @ 3:00 PM If you like art and you're in 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade, come to the Bartram Trail Library on Wednesday, April 28 at 3:00 to celebrate Mother’s Day early. Study the art of Mary Cassatt and make a gift for Mom. BARTRAM TRAIL BRANCH

Kids of all ages are invited to come celebrate the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, and a desire to take care of our planet with these fun, eco-friendly crats to keep or give to family and friends! MAIN LIBRARY

Edwards Pies .50 each!

In the insert this past weekend there was a $1 off Edward's Singles & they are BOGO this week at Publix at $2.99-so .99 for 2 after coupons (if you have 2-I highly recommend getting 2 papers each week for the BOGO sales)! They have lots to choose from! These are fun to stick in the freezer if you have a bday coming up or something-I usually don't get a big cake for my hubby so we get him something small & put a candle in it to sing happy birthday, but of course they are great to eat as a dessert-may be a bribe for my son to behave!!

My store was out of most everything today! But don't forget about rainchecks-I love them cuz it gives me more time to get more coupons! Some Publix's have use in 30 days, others have no expiration date-depends on your store-once they run out of the no expiration dates they will have use within 30 days on them. Winn-Dixie's you have to use within 30 days, Food Lion, CVS & Walgreens has NO expiration date! But Walgreens does not give rainchecks for "free" items like CVS does.

Anyone reading?!

My counter hit 10,000! It counts 1 every time I post something but I assume some people are reading my blog! I have over 40 people signed up to receive emails but I would love to hear from you! Post a comment if you will & tell me how you heard about my blog! Remember you can always email me with ANY questions or post your question in a comment & I will answer them in a post!

This is a great week at Publix so hopefully yal' checked the website to get the list with coupon matchups! I especially love the nature valley bars that are BOGO-I bought the yogurt ones & my kids LOVE those & there is a .40 coupon in the 4/18 SS so after 2 coupons & you get 48 bars-so it ends up being about .10 a bar (they are priced at $5.49)! These are great for me to keep in my purse for a snack for my kiddos!

There is a smart source blinkie at Food Lion for .50 off Ronzoni noodles (it is next to the noodles)-& those are BOGO at Publix this week too!

And go here to see the sneak peek deals starting Thursday!

Who needs cable?!

I know I have brought this up in my coupon classes but I know there are a lot who haven't came to one of my classes!

But we haven't had cable for years-it's nice to not have the television constantly on & saves us money! We do watch our shows (which are available the next day) on hulu.com. It is a very easy site to work with & we just watch them on our laptop. As far as the kiddos go, lately I have been lucky finding .50-$1 DVD's for them. I'm picky about what they watch so I try to get educational ones like Leapfrop, Barney, Elmo, Veggie Tales, & I definitely utilize the library! I know a lot of people say they forget to take them back but I usually rent & bring back the same day each week-like I go pick them up on Wed or Thursday & I don't have to bring them back until Monday (before they open at 10). They are closed on Sunday, & if you rent them on Wednesday, then they are due back on Saturday, but since they are closed on Sunday, as long as you have them in the drop box BEFORE they open at 10am on Monday-no late fees! And you can re rent them the day they are due on their website for 3 more days-you can do that twice & then if you really want to keep them longer, then call the library & they will extend it again! Most of the educational movies are for 2 weeks! You can also sign up for library elf & it sends you an email the day before they are due!!

Redbox & Blockbuster Express are also great too! Most of the time you can get free rental codes!

Now for those that have football hubbies-well a lot of games they can get with an antenna which we have & others they can watch games live on ESPN360.com!

Not sold on getting rid of cable? Well call your cable company & they may give you a better deal-I have heard numerous people get lucky with that!

Here is a previous post I have posted about the library:

The library is a great place to get movies! It has saved us so much money! They get all the new movies every Tuesday (the release date for movies), and you can usually sign up a week before for it so you are on the hold list. They also have a Library Elf thing that lets you know when they are due back so you don't forget! They let you customize it how you want. It takes a little getting use to, but you won't never have to spend another dollar on a movie again! They let you keep it for 3 days! Thursday is the best day to pick them up because they are closed on Sunday, so they aren't due back until Monday! AND you just have to have it in the night drop before they open the next day which is 10 am....

You can sign up on their website...www.sjcpls.org to receive a calendar of events so you know what is going on. There is a branch on the Island, Southeast, Hastings, I think in Ponte Vedra and one in town off of US 1 (most of you know it as the Carousel Park)...And you can return the movies to ANY branch...even in Jacksonville (as long as it is in St Johns County). You can sign up for the newsletter and they will send you an email when they have the new movies in the system and what they are (but most of the time they have them in there before they send it).

Confused? Got any questions? PLEASE email me-I'm happy to help!

Pump It Up Discount!

Pump It Up is proud to offer any military, nurses, doctors, police officers, firefighters, teachers or school officals 10% off when they come and visit us for Family Jump Time, Pop In Play or to have a birthday party.

Please show a valid ID for your profession.

I wish I would have known that!
My Walgreens had everything in stock today but wanted to point out if it's not on the shelf-ASK! Because most of the time the items that are on sale that week are on end caps or in the beauty section with it's own stand-like the trimmer that is free this week-it was all out on the shelf but I asked & pointed me to a stand that had a ton of them! I would also ask a "happy" person-if you ask someone that appears not happy to be there then don't ask them because chances are they will say they don't have anymore. In that case, I always go ask someone else instead! And don't feel bad doing multiple transactions-I use to go back a different day when I first started out but the cashiers understand because TONS of people do it! If there are people behind me in line, then I always let them go ahead after I do my first transaction. But I usually always try to check out in the cosmetic section because they are always soooooo nice & no line!!

No more free soap buddies!

Looks like no more free Johnson's soap buddies! On the coupon in the paper today it said it excluded it-so they figured that one out! Glad I stocked up & at least have 10 more left!

Walgreens it the place to be this week! Check out the ad matchups on iheartwags.com, Southern Savers or hiptosave.com!

3 Community Garage Sales!!

Royal St Augustine, Samara Lakes & Murabella are having their community garage sales tomorrow!

& mark your calendar Heritage Park is having theirs next Saturday!
Did anyone else have luck doing the aspirin deal at Walgreens? Mine didn't have a sign up so I tried to do it & the manager said it was a misprint but they are still honoring it! But couldn't use coupons-I got 2 aspirin's that were $2.99 & he changed the price to free & it printed out a $3 RR! So 2 bottles of aspirin & a $3 RR-can't beat that!

If the sign is up at your Walgreens then they will not do this! I guess it was up to the store manager!

Walgreen's $20 Moneymaker!

I went in today & made a profit of $20 & got 4 bottles of Vitamins at Walgreens! Go here to see how! It looked like they were all out & mine but they were actually hidden behind the other vitamins!

A no go on the Bayer Aspirin moneymaker!

The Walgreen’s Bayer Deal that I posted about in my weekly deals yesterday is not quite as sweet as I thought due to an error in the Walgreen’s weekly ad. The Wags in-ad $3/1 Bayer coupon was a misprinting error and should have read $3/1 Bayer Aspirin 100 ct. or larger or Heart Health Advantage 40 or 80 ct. This means that the Bayer deal I originally posted will NOT be $4+ moneymaker (sorry, guys! :( )…instead the Bayer will simply be FREE (so still a great deal). Here is the new deal scenario for you:

Buy 2 Bayer 24-36 ct. = $3RR
Buy 2 Bayer Aspirin Low Dose 32ct $2.99 each = $5.98
Use 2 $1.50/1 Bayer Aspirin coupons found here
Final Cost FREE!

Thanks Hip 2 Save!

I have spent a lot of time printing a lot of coupons tonite! Geez! A few quick tips I thought I'd share to conserve ink/paper & time! If you are printing coupons from target.com, coupons.com or any other similar website after you print 1 out, they usually always go to the last page for some reason-so when you go to print out the second one (there is a limit of 2 per computer), if it won't let you hit the back arrow, then go to the last page of the coupons & you should find it!

There is an option if you go to printing preferences to check a box that says "show preview before printing" this saves me TONS of ink since a lot of coupons print out an advertisement afterwards & then I watch & hit the "cancel printing" button on my printer to save the ink!

I also usually can print 3 coupons per page-I print 1 (usually prints on top), then I flip over & print 1 on bottom, then I get my handy dandy scrapbook cutter & cut off 1 coupon & then position the paper where the third coupon prints in the blank space-now I can only do this if I see the preview before it prints so I know what I am printing!

Now Target.com coupons (if you only print 1) prints out in the middle! So in that case-it works out perfect when you have a coupon on top & bottom to print out a target one in the middle, but if you printed out the target coupon first, then you would do opposite, print a coupon on top & then one on the bottom!

And remember DO NOT print out your coupons in color! There is an option to click "always print in black ink" or something to that affect! And I always hit fast draft-I just change it to color manually when I need to-it's easy!

Did I just confuse you?! Yes I am so cheap! But if you want to save money then you have to do it from all aspects, right?!

My plan at Walgreens next week!!

Buy 2 Bayer 24-36 ct. = $3RR
Buy 2 Bayer Aspirin 325MG Tablets 24ct $3.29 each (based on on-line price)
Use 2 $1/1 coupons from the 3/21 SS
Use the $3/1 in-ad coupon (will deduct $6; please note that this coupon does not specify a size in the ad so I am assuming that it will scan for any Bayer product)
Pay absolutely nothing
Get a $3 RR
Final Cost FREE + $4.42 moneymaker (part of this will have gone towards the filler items)!

I actually printed out this coupon from iheartpublixcom-it is $1.50 off Bayer Aspirin so even better deal!!

-$1.50/1 Bayer Aspirin product 24ct. or larger, OR any Heart Health Advantage product
*UPDATE ASPIRIN COUPON WAS A MISPRINT IN AD!

Nature’s Bounty Vitamin D-1000 IU 120 tablets $5 = $5 RR
Use the $2/1 coupon found here or found here (if you have not yet signed up for the Healthy Rewards program)
Final Cost FREE + a $2 moneymaker!

& my filler item since there will be a total of 3 coupons (the $3 off in the ad is limit 3 so it is considered 1 coupon-isn't walgreens so confusing?!) used for the Aspirin will be my pictures I have to pick up from a couple of weeks ago when there was free prints and 20 prints for .20-I've been waiting on picking them up for when I need a filler item!!

THEN 2nd Transaction:

Nature's Bounty Vitamins which will be $3 after $2 coupon
Tights (for my little girl-they are only $1.67! That is cheaper than Wal-Mart! If you walk around Walgreens you'll be surprised the things you find that are a good deal!).
Use $3 RR from Bayer Aspirin & pay $1.67 + tax out of pocket & then I will have 2, $5 RR left over that I will use at Publix or next week at Walgreens! Now I had to grab an extra thing since you have to have an item for EACH coupon used! Even if it is a coupon that you cut out of the weekly ad that is still considered a coupon!

Now hopefully this will all be in stock! Thanks Hip2Save for coupon matchups!!
Don't miss kid's night this coming Tuesday night at Chick Fil A! We love going & this week you will get a free book & there will be fun games & prizes! It is from 5:30-8:30pm!

Fraudulent Chick Fil A Coupons!

I just learned today when we were at Chick Fil A that I had bought fraudulent coupons on ebay! The owner/operator was very nice & let me use it & I gave him the information from where I purchased them from-so be careful! They look almost identical to the ones-but they was a certain hologram missing which is how he knew-he said they have been having problems getting so many in-but he said the calendar coupons are not fraud so those are ok to purchase on ebay!

I hope everyone had a fun Saturday & got to go to some events! My kids had a blast with the free samples of peach milkshakes & chick n minis! And getting their face painted, balloons, & the bounce house at Chick fil A!
I don't know if anyone will see this in time but the St Gerald Campus is having their garage sale & all kids clothes are .25-I just went by there & there were still tons of people!

Free entrance to any National Park starts this weekend

Don’t Forget that April 17-25 is free entrance to any of the 392 National Park’s. SO pack up the car. Pack a lunch. Get out of the house. Most people have a National Park with in driving distance. Many camp grounds are very inexpensive. There isn’t a better way to have a thrifty vacation then camping and entering a free park! Click here for more info
Also, Saturday, April 24, is National Junior Ranger Day, and children can take part in kid-friendly activities and earn their very own junior ranger patch!

Thanks Free Stuff 4 Free

Thanks Jenell!

Family Night at McDonald's!

Every Thursday night from 5-7 is Family Night at McDonald's-the information I found out was the kids go on the game room & color & get to make/decorate a free Sundae-this is at the one on US1-near Food Lion.

Saturday Events!

Chick Fil A is having a Spring Family Day tomorrow from 11:30-1:30! It will be in the parking lot & she said there will be bounce houses, face painting & prizes! I have never been to this before!

Don't forget about the YMCA Healthy Kids Fair too!

Lowe's is also having their Build & Grow Workshop tomorrow-go here for more info!
I forgot to mention that at Walgreens they had the exact coupon binder I have on clearance for $5! And in the toy section they had toys buy 1 get 1 free & some were on clearance! This was at the Walgreens across from the hospital.

Target had BPA free water bottles in the dollar spot for $1! They also had Giraffe Limbo game 75% off, Pictureka game 75% off-marked to $3.77! They also have Del Monte canned vegetables for .50 each! They also had some storage ottomans on clearance for 13.98 & there are $5 off coupons on their website! They had a purple color one & a red, white & blue one-so $9 after coupon! If you have a boy bday party coming up they had basketball stuff 75% off-basketball lights, plates, table cloths-lots of cute stuff!

Food Lion also had their brand beans on sale 2 for .95!! Stock up! There were black eye peas, kidney beans, great northern & pinto-they were completely out of stock so I got a rain check!

Trinity Episcopal Church has their VBS sign ups already! If you sign up before June 28th you will not be charged a $20 registration fee-Their VBS is July 26th.

I posted information on swim lessons & they are also already signing up for that too! I did today but they are booked on a lot of dates already!!
I just saw this on Judy's website & I would say I def agree-please be honest with your coupons-stores will start making more strict policies if coupons are used dishonestly & it's not fair for us who do use them honestly! New to using coupons read this previous post! I know it's hard to know all the coupon "rules"-I made a lot of mistakes in the beginning & that post is very helpful!

COMPETITOR COUPON

Well, it has finally happened in the Athens, Huntsville metro area. Eleven publix stores will only be accepting "traditional coupons". This means they are only going to accept grocery store coupons. They are no longer going to accept drugstore coupons or $ off $$ coupons.

We can only hope that this doesn't filter down to our area. PLEASE be considerate of Publix and how you use competitor coupons. Publix "eats" anywhere between $2,000 and $5,000 per week in competitor coupons. Once that number gets to a level where they feel they are losing money, they will do away with the competitor coupon deal we all know and love.

Playgroup!

I've had a few emails about interest in playgroups & we'll be having a playgroup on Mondays around 12 at the Splash Park-I can't guarantee we'll be there each week as with 3 kids you never know when one will be sick but fortunately we are rarely sick! So if you just moved here or looking to meet some new people come join us! We always bring lunch & if we're not at the Splash Park then we may be down at the beach!

Community Garage Sales!!

Julington Creek Plantation
Semi-Annual Garage Sale
April 17, 2010
8:00a.m.-12:00 noon
& the WGV is having their community garage sale this weekend too!

Wednesday Meal Ideas!

I know this is late but wanted to post while I was thinking about it! I love having 1 night off a week to not cook & go out & here are the cheap places to eat on Wednesdays in St. Augustine!

De Leon Pizza (next to Epic theaters) has $1 slice night (after 4pm). This is for cheese pizza only. They are huge slices & very good-we always order it extra done!

CiCi's Pizza is kid's night so kids 10 & under eat for .99 after 5:30 pm. Adult buffets are $4.99-we have tons of Buy one get one free coupons that they handed out in the store-if you ask for a business card on the back there is a coupon for buy one get one free buffet when u buy 2 drinks. We eat for $6 for all of us-my daughter is free since she is 3 or under. So this is cheap for us-sometimes there will be coupons in the Mint Magazines for BOGO buffet.

Mc Donald's cheeseburgers .69 & hamburgers .49-& if you get other stuff on the $1 menu (chicken sandwich is yummy!) then you will have a cheap meal!

Know of any other cheap places to eat on certain days let me know!
Walgreens (near the hospital) has lots of clearance! You have to dig though! They had the baskets that I posted a pic of a while back for $2.79 (I got them for $1.79 I think) so they may go lower-but their is clearance all over the store. Baked Beans are a good deal too for .50 a can-we use them in chili & beanie weanies! If you have the coupon from a previous Family Dollar ad which was .25 off-then .25 a can! This was a manufacturer coupon & it scanned at Walgreens-I had no problem using it!

I'm loving the free toilet paper at CVS this week! Each time I go I get a coupon ($1 off any CVS paper brand product & tp is 2 for $1 this week!) & every time I go I scan my green tag which is a .25 each time (you get a $1 extra buck every fourth time you scan your card)! So I've gone several times this week!

Don't forget to check the coupon match ups for Publix's ad on Southern Savers.com or Iheartpublix.com-I'm loving the FREE Orville popcorn this week! I think this is the first time I have ever got that for free! Good snack for me & the kiddos! We love adding m&m's to it-u should try it if you haven't-put them in right after it pops & they melt a little! Yum! I just love watching my kids dig for them!

Tuesday, April 13, 2010

Join us on April 17 from 9:00am-1:00pm for YMCA Healthy Kids Day, which is a free, fun-filled day of activities designed to promote healthy kids and families. Activities will include a family Easter egg and scavenger hunt, family Zumba, a social hour, a boat race and much more! We will have healthy snacks for all who attend.

This is at the YMCA here in St Augustine & it was lots of fun last year!

Thanks Jenell!

Summer Activities!

You can sign up for swim lessons at the new Calhoun Community Center in St Augustine their number is 829-5250. Last year it was $30 for lessons (2 weeks, Mon-Thurs), $20 for Parent/Child Lessons (4 lessons). This is a lot cheaper than doing it at the YMCA & the YMCA actually taught it last year!

Vacation Bible Schools are great too to keep your kids busy for ages 3 and +. My son has went the last 2 years & LOVES it! He already has been asking about it. There haven't been any sign ups yet but should be soon!
I wanted to post a this again for some new readers!

I wasn't sure if a lot of people were aware of this or not so I wanted to share! I was thankful when a friend told me about it! But at the St Johns County Tax Collector's Office (next to the Sherriff's office) there is an office called Project Buckle Up and they will check or put in your carseat to make sure it is safe (which to my surprise several times I have had them in wrong!). I do this every time I switch carseats out and finally went today to get the baby's one put in. They are really nice and it is free for them to do that. If you are getting any kind of financial assistance like Healthy Start, WIC, Food Stamps...you can buy a carseat for $20! Their number is 209-2250 and just ask to speak to Project Buckle Up and set up an appointment.

Chick Fil A FREE Breakfast again!

I keep forgetting to post this but when I rode by Chick fil A a few days ago I saw they are doing FREE breakfast on Thursdays AGAIN the month of April! I'm sure it's probably the same thing as last time-yipee!

Enjoy this weather & save money!

We went without using our air conditioner/heater last month & our electric bill was $42! Enjoy this weather & save some money before it gets too hot! We use our fans & open the windows during the day. I'm so excited we saved so much!!

I copied & pasted this from Judy at staugustinesavers.blogspot.com website-thought it was helpful info!

HOW TO TELL IF A COUPON IS A FRAUD

I recently received an e-mail from Christy asking me if I had heard about the $8 Perdue coupon that is circulating. My advice is, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is! I checked with the CIC site here, and sure enough, the Perdue coupon is listed! If you ever have any questions, go to this site to see the current list of fradulent coupons.

Do you have BCBS for insurance?

In my statement today there were coupons from BCBS-they are manufacturer coupons & if you go to "myservices" you can look for more coupons! Go here!

Friday, April 9, 2010

I just happened to get on Ebay tonite & see that you can post local classified ads for FREE! Go here to find out more info! Looks like their trying to compete with craigslist!
Puffs tissue are also on sale for .99 at CVS next week & if you are a vocalpoint member, you should have got a coupon for $1 off & .50 coupons so you at least get 1 free one! If you aren't signed up for Vocalpoint-go here! You get lots of coupons-some for even free products!
And if you are getting the $1 off CVS paper product coupon when you scan your card hold on to it because the single rolls of toilet paper are going to be 2 for $1 starting Sunday!!!! Whoo hoo! Too bad I already used mine!

If they are all out (the store I was in today only had a few left)-get a raincheck!

Thanks Jana!
Staples sent out an email today with a coupon for a free ream of copy paper after easy saver rebate! You have to go in before tomorrow. You can submit it online & it is WAY easy!

I also was in the dollar store today & they have lots of good hairclips-Goody Brand-like the clear pony tail holders-they are usually around $2.50 at Walmart for I think 250 of them & they have them for $1 for 500 of them! They had clear or different colors & had cute clips! They also had cute summer dresses for infant girls! And even jackets! Go when you have time & walk up & down the aisle-you never know what u may find! Oh and they also had a mini peeler that goes on your finger-I have one & love it! I use it a lot to sliver carrots for my pasta fugoli soup I make or for peeling carrots or anything-it works really good!

Monday, April 5, 2010

If you go to CVS this week, it may print out a $1 off CVS paper product when you scan your card (remember you can scan your card twice to get more coupons!) & the single roll toilet paper is .99! So free toilet paper!

Not much at CVS besides the free gum & prints are .09 which is a great deal! No limit! And the reeses are .50 & there is a coupon for .55 off the dark choc reese's so .05 in overage!

    Green Meadows Farm!

We had a fun little vacation & went down to Kissimmee to the Green Meadows Petting Farm for the second time! It may sound a little crazy to drive so far to go to a petting farm but it is worth it to us! You stay 3 hours & get to go on a hay ride, train ride, go in the pins to pet the animals, catch a duck, catch a chicken, go on a pony ride, go in a museum where you get to hold a porcupine, rabbits, guinea pigs, & you even get to milk a cow! This is so educational & we all had so much fun as you can see in the pictures!! You can go here to find out more info about it & print out a free admission when you buy 2 adult admissions. It is $21 for an adult to get in & children under 3 are free, so yes a little on the expensive side, but you get your money's worth!
