Great week at Publix!

I made my Publix shopping trip tonite if you haven't already this is a great week! Check Southern Savers website to see all the coupon matchups. I spent $5 tonite & got TONS of stuff...bag of kale, bag of spinach, 6 bags of Fisher nut mix, 8, 6 packs of applesauce, 2 bags of Alexia snacks, 6, 4 packs of Fiber One Yogurt, 3 lbs of chicken breasts, 2 scotch tapes, 8 packages of Chinet napkins (had a raincheck), I'm sure there is more but that is all I can think of! I get so excited to go grocery shopping-it's so much fun even though I had a cashier that counted each item to each coupon (I had 34 coupons) & even questioned me photocopying my internet coupons in which I had to show her that they had different numbers on them-that took forever! I kept telling everyone that walked up to go to a different line-I felt so bad!
Got in an email today:

I am putting together my donation for the Betty Griffin House of my stockpile. I called over there to see if they are overloaded with one particular item, toothpaste or whatever, and she said they are out on a lot of stuff and could really use everything. Just wanted to pass that along if anyone else you know builds their stockpile for donation.

Thanks Kristin!

Our youth at church are also trying to put little bags together for the homeless so if you have anything to donate please let me know & I will come pick up!

Even better deal!!

Luminary Night This Wednesday!

ST. AUGUSTINE, FL - The grounds of the historic St. Augustine Light Station and the surrounding neighborhood will glisten with the magical glow of thousands of candles during Luminary Night, Wednesday, December 2, from 6 until 9 p.m.

The maritime museum has never charged admission on Luminary Night; however, this year they are asking that you help them help. Bring in a non-perishable food item and the Lighthouse & Museum will help get your donation to the people who need it the most. All food items will be donated to St. Johns County food banks.

“There is entertainment, exhibits, and -- as always -- giving back; this event is a celebration of community and a traditional beginning to the holiday season,” Beau Phillips, Public Relations Coordinator, St. Augustine Lighthouse & Museum said.

Luminary Night will feature local musicians providing live entertainment, refreshments, holiday arts and crafts, and you can even sit with Santa Claus. Visitors can also climb the lighthouse tower and enjoy a breathtaking view of the City of St. Augustine aglow with the “Nights of Lights”. (For their safety, children must be 44 inches tall to climb the tower.)

In addition to Luminary Night activities, the Lighthouse gift shop will be open offering unique nautical and lighthouse gifts.

For more information on Luminary Night or other maritime programs and events at the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Museum, go to www.staugustinelighthouse.org, visit the blog, or call 904.829.0745.

Critics have praised the festival as being “A Huge Success” and that “Taking a Chance on Ice Pays Off”. Last year’s “Winter Wonderland is a Hit!” & “It was easy to forget I was really in Florida”.

New additions to this year’s festival include the Blizzard Bounce House & the Elf Express Train as well as a New Theatre original production of “A Time for Everything”, thousands of additional lights, more decorations, more holiday scenes painted by local artists, and the most holiday cheer in Florida!

Other Winter Wonderland favorites include St. Augustine’s ONLY Ice Skating Rink with Nightly Snow Fall! America’s ONLY Refrigerated Ice Slide, Sleigh Rides, Elf Village, Reindeer Games, Lighted Nature Trails, Candy Cane Forest, S’Mores Pit, and of course the man himself Santa Claus!

SeeHere Update: Free Photo Deals Not Valid

As I'm sure most of you know by now, SeeHere.com is not going to be honoring the free photo deals I've posted about recently.

This is what was stated in the SeeHere.com email most of us recently received:

**************************************
Recently, you used a promotional code for a free photo ornament, 12-month photo calendar and/or (25) 4x8 photo cards. These promotional codes were only valid with a purchase of a Santa photo package that is currently being offered in select malls across the country.

Unfortunately, the free product promotional codes were posted on various websites and are now being redeemed without a Santa Photo Package purchase. All orders for these free photo products have been placed on hold and will now be completed with validation of purchase.

If you purchased a Santa Photo Package, please contact us by phone, email or mail and we will be happy to assist you in completing your free photo gift order.

Please contact us within the next ten business days or your order will be cancelled. Thank you.

Free Christmas Cards!

(offer ends Saturday 11/21 so hurry)

Go to www.seehere.com

Click on photo cards then create your photo card. Make sure they are 4x8 cards. There are TONS of backgrounds to choose from too!!! Make sure to change the quantity to 50.

Enter the code "freebies4mom-1109" at checkout and everything will be FREE.

It's really easy to do, but it does take alittle time to load up your pictures so what I did was picked out the ones that I wanted and put them in a seperate folder and just pulled up that folder. Or just look at your pictures ahead of time and decide which one or ones you want to use. The site may be alittle busy because of this deal but I was able to do it yesterday without problems.

After I was done making them an error message came up saying something about not having a picture on the card but don't worry about that.

This is a great deal so make sure you take advantage of it!

You can see the post and more directions on this blog. http:/amyinorlando.blogspot.com

I did make these and already got a confirmation that they have been sent.

You do not need to give credit card info!!

Hope this will help save some holiday cash!

Thanks Lacey!

Sample Before you Serve

Posted: 17 Nov 2009 08:00 AM PST

Sam’s Clubs nationwide are having a free “Sample Before you Serve” event this weekend, Friday November 20-SUnday November 22, from 11am-6pm.

Members and nonmembers can come and sample a variety of their holiday entrees and dessert dishes. If there’s a Sam’s Club near you, this might be a fun way to get out of the hosue and begin some holiday festivities by tasting some fun seasonal dishes.

Free food is always fun. If you have a Costco membership or know a friend who does, pair up and hit both stores for a free lunch on Saturday!

Anyone in your family like Wheat thins? Well Nabisco has great promtion going. I got all these plus 3 more boxes free!!!

How?

Nabisco has a rebate going where you get $10 back when you buy 10 participating products. Simply print out the rebate form and send it in with your original cashier reciept(s). You can print your rebate from here:

http://www.kraftfoods.com/SiteCollectionImages/ImageRepository/Sept_09/Kraft_Holiday_Crackers.pdf

Here is how the deal works:

Buy 10 boxes of Nabisco Wheat Thins @ 2.00 each

Use 10 coupons for $1.00 off any Nabisco crackers (Don’t have that many? Try buying extra off ebay)

Pay $10 at store, mail in the rebate, and get your $10 back!!!!

Keep in mind that the items have to be purchased between 10/1/09-11/30/09

(That means you can use past purchases and combine them with new!!!)

The rebates have to be received by 12/15/09 to qualify.

It’s a great deal, and a great time to stock up!!!

Thanks A Thrifty Mom!

Jax4Kids.com

I had some great news tonite-I actually won 4 tickets to the preview screening of Old Dogs this Saturday! Yay! I can't believe I won! I've been lucky lately winning things! But I would take the time to register to win the drawings. It is from Jax4Kids-the link is on the left hand side-but you can also sign up for their newsletter. It's worth a try!! They have lots of giveaways!

Chick Fil A

So I finally made it to Chick Fil A-we never miss Mr. Barry's magic show!! And got to flip through their calendar! Wow! If you love Chick Fil A then you definitely need to go buy one of these-each month there is a coupon for a totally free coupon-no purchase required! Free chicken biscuit, free dasani water & fruit cup, free milk shake, free chicken sandwich, free 3 chicken strips....lots of stuff! And to make it even better if you purchase a $20 gift card you get the calendar for FREE (for a limited time)!! The calendars costs $6 regularly.

I also have been getting coupons off of Ebay for Chick Fil A-that is a new thing I am doing-buying coupons on Ebay! But I just purchased a 3 chicken strips (got 10 of them) for $11. These are huge strips! I was surprised tonite how big they are! I also got coupons for free chicken sandwiches & free 8 ct nuggets.

A little tip about Chick Fil A-it is corporate policy to accept all coupons even if they say redeem at a different one-& you can use expired coupons-they say "Please Use By" on them. And you can trade your toy in the kid's meal for a ice cream cone!

Kid's night is every Tuesday from 6-8 & 2 for 1 Nugget night is each Monday night (not sure on time!)

Did I mention I love Chick Fil A!!

Pa Kua Martial Arts!

Pa-Kua Martial Arts & Yoga, 233 W. King St.

(904) 827-0007

We have been going & trying out different martial arts schools & went here tonite! It is a great facility! We are going back tomorrow night to try out a different one but I think their prices are very reasonable! They are actually running a special right now which is 2 for 1! Meaning if you choose to do a class once a week (which costs $60 for the month) then another family member (or friend-you would have to call & clarify that) will receive the same thing! So pretty much buy 1 get one free! I also saw that if you have a current student I.D. you get $25 off (I think), & if you choose direct deposit you get a class for a free each month! They have several classes-Yoga, Martial Arts, Women's Martial Arts, Kickboking, Pee Wee Martial Arts (ages 3-5) & also a Kid's Martial Arts Class, they even have a kid's one on Saturdays that parent's can join in on...lots of choices! Call for more info-you can try your first class for free. The special is running through the end of the month BUT she said if you mention that you saw this on my blog then you can get it 2 for 1 even if it is after November!

Download Free Books from Deseret!

There are lots of free books & are on a timely basis! So check them out here!

The cartoons ones they had-were Clifford, Wiggles & Koala Brothers for $2.50 & lots of Barney for $5. I was also in the Bakery Section (of course getting a cookie for the kids) & they had tons of stuff marked down-I know Wal-Mart does it too (has a cart in the back of the store near the yogurt), but she said she does it every day-the times varies-but there were a dozen doughnuts for $1.99, Happy Bday Cookie cake for $1.99-LOTS of things-their cart is in the corner in the bakery & the doughnuts sit up top on the counter! She said if it has today's date on it, it is always marked down. I've never noticed it at Publix before but I will be sure to ask when I go this week!

I would guess this DVD sale is at a lot of stores-so I would check it out if you live in Jax-they are up front right when you walk in-I had to move stuff to get to them-so they are kind of hidden! These make great Christmas presents or Birthday gifts!!

-Money Saving Blogs-

These are posted on the left hand side. These are my favorite websites to follow! Iheartwags, IheartCVS, & Iheartpublix are great! You can view the Publix ad early every Monday! The iheartwags & iheartcvs has websites you can see as far as 2-3 weeks in advance! Southern Savers is a great website-has all the coupon matchups for Publix each Wednesday. Coupon Mom I don't follow so much anymore-but it was useful in the beginning-I love reading the forums when I get a chance-but there are just others I rather to follow since my time is limited these days!
So I know there are a lot who follow my blog or so I have heard! But I thought it would be fun to get together a night or afternoon & talk couponing! I know there are a few of us who would love to meet others who "coupon" around here! If you are interested please email me! You can also come if you are interested in starting to do it also! I'm sure there will be plenty of us willing to share our great deals we find! I have had several people email me in the past with questions which I do not mind at all so feel free to email me with any questions you may have!

Manufacturer Websites for coupons/mailing lists

These are listed on the left hand side-I am sure there are PLENTY more. I usually google to see if there is a coupon available or always check the product's website. Some are always available & some are just posted periodically. But if you haven't took the time yet-call the 1-800 numbers on the back of your products you use & ask for coupons! Tell them how much you love their products! Some say you can call every 3 months! Remember you can print 2 per computer!

Don't have cable?

No, we do not have cable not only because I am too cheap to pay for it, but because we don't feel it is a necessity & don't want to spend too much of our time watching it or our kids watching too much tv! But I do love watching a lot of tv shows this season & in case you didn't know, you can watch the majority of them online! We watch them all on hulu.com, but you can watch a lot directly on the network's website such as http://www.abc.com. It doesn't cost a thing to watch them! My husband is a big football fan & has also been able to watch a lot of football games LIVE on ESPN 360. So if you are looking to save a lot of money each month-this is something you may want to consider!

We do pay $10 a month for Netflix. We watch a lot of movies on the website including cartoons/tv shows for the kids & we get 1-2 movies a week in the mail which is our entertainment since we never go to the movies or rent any. But Redbox or Blockbuster Express are great too! We were able to watch the whole Harper's Island tv series on netflix.com which was SO GOOD! We loved that show!

I know a lot of people love watching the news which you can also do online! You can read it at staugustine.com or watch it on news channel's website live or you can go back & watch videos. Channel 4 News is one of them!

Free Personalized Wall Calender

Posted: 14 Nov 2009 06:18 AM PST

PhotoWallCalEvery year we make a cute calender for Matt’s parents. We found a way to make a personalized calender by uploading your own photos (12) by clicking here. We uploaded 12 cute photos of the family, and got to edit the months and style of the calender. It was so much fun to make this. Click here to make yours for FREE! I only had to pay $5.67 in shipping.

Thanks A Thrifty Mom!

Target also has ones in the $1 spot-you put your own pictures in it! But this isn't that much more by the time you pay to print pictures & you can edit this one & do different styles! They are really fun to make! I made 1 one year for my dad for Christmas & announced I was pregnant again (for the month I was due I had a picture of my son wearing a shirt that said "I'm the Big Brother"-but these are great to put family's bdays on too-I think they make great gifts!!

Free Admission to Marineland!

Received this in an email today:

A lady in my yoga class told me about a Marineland event coming up on the 21st. Your whole family gets in free all day and radio Disney will be there for games and prizes from 3-5pm. I love Marineland it is so pretty there, right on the beach. I think we will go for sure! Sounds like a lot of fun. Here is the link for more info: http://www.marineland.net/events.php

Thanks Amy Kaye!

When they did the $1 admission a few years back-we attempted to go & not only was it bumper to bumper traffic practically all the way there but the line was EXTREMELY long to get in-we would have waited forever! We turned around & went right back home-so be prepared!

This is what the website says:
Save the Date! You and your family are invited to Marineland’s Dolphin Conservation Center on Saturday November 21st from 3-5pm to enjoy a free afternoon of fun and games. Radio Disney’s AM 990 Road Crew will provide music and entertainment. Kid-friendly food, beverages, games, crafts, educational activities, entertainment, and of course DOLPHINS, will complete this afternoon of family fun. Admission to Marineland is free all day. Special activities begin at 3pm. We’ll see you here!

If you plan a trip to Wal-Mart soon check this out!

Keep in mind Wal-Mart is NOT the cheapest place to shop-there are a few things that are-but if you catch the item on sale at other places it is a lot cheaper!!

Maclaren Stroller Recall

Maclaren USA Recalls ALL Umbrella Strollers

By Jessica at Parenting.com on Monday, November 9, 1:24 pm EST

The models affected are Volo, Triumph, Quest Sport, Quest Mod, Techno XT, TechnoXLR, Twin Triumph, Twin Techno and Easy Traveller.

Reports that the hinge mechanism in the back of the stroller can cut (or cut off) children's fingertips has prompted the recall. I received this in an email today & this is an odd post as I know this is a very controversial topic but if you are contemplating getting the swine flu vaccine you may be interested in watching these videos-the 2 min video is great-u do have to put your email address in to access it.
Thanks Shannon!

Here are some past posts I found on a blog about the swine flu vaccine....
**Research over and over!! I have been torn about my 5 yr old daughter with asthma getting this vaccine. I asked for God to give me a sign on whether or not to get my child the vaccine and the next day our sales rep came into my work and said his 11 year old nephew had the h1n1 vaccine and a week later started complaining he had a headache few hours later he went into a terrible seizure now this poor child has been in the hospital ever since and had severe seizures one after the other. After testing and x-rays they can't seem to find out why this is happening??? Things that make you go hummm? Now you tell me this child has never had any health problems or seizures
What is in the vaccine that could make you have neurological problems maybe the preservative thermisol(mercury) and I wonder what else.
my mom had her swine flu shot in 1975 in october by febuary 14 1976 she never walked again..due to side affect of gullian barre..i choose never to take the shot..
My sister is 24 years old and diabetic so she is in the high risk group and got the H1N1 vaccine as well as the seasonal flu vaccine, 6 days after recieving the vaccines she started getting stomache pains and diarrhea, which turned into bloody diarrhea and then completely bloody. We are not 100% sure yet, but she has seen two gastrontogists and it seems like she had developed Crohns Disease, an auto immune disorder. I don't believe that this is a coincidence.
Official FDA website with list of ingredients (that they are at least willing to share with us). I spent about 30 minutes reading from several websites each individual ingredient and stopped after my mouth got numb from being wide open and saying WOW over and over. See for yourself....
