Another Great Publix Trip!

Another great week at Publix! I had coupons expiring 6/30 so needed to use them & I got all this for $3.36 & that was a $1 in tax! My bill was I think $84 before coupons. It helped that the Energizer batteries I got rang up wrong-they gave them to me for FREE & gave me $4.18 in change from my coupons I had! I was shocked & was not expecting that at all! & I got more blueberries-the coupon would not work but she still put it through anyhow-usually they accept Publix coupons up to 1 week past expiration.

6 Fiber One Yogurts (had rain check for BOGO & had BOGO coupons) so FREE
Energizer 10 pack AA FREE
Rubbermaid Water Bottle (50% off this week & had $1 manufacturer coupon from yesterday's insert so $1.24) & it's BPA Free!
5 Blueberries FREE
2 Kraft Mayo FREE (used 1 manufacturer & publix $1 off & it was $1.99)
2 Flat Out Bread FREE (had bogo raincheck & manufacturer coupons)
4 Smart Balance Milk-.80 overage
Fresh Green Beans
5 Kiwi Fruit
2 Green Bell Peppers
Bananas
2 Publix Party Cups $2.69 (had bogo coupon from baby club & needed these for my daughter's bday party this weekend)
3 Publix 2L sodas (.50 each! great deal & needed them for bday party)
Pull-up's (had FREE coupon from House Party I won)
Animal Crackers small box (had FREE coupon from Baby Club)
10 Applesauce (these don't expire until 2012 so these are GREAT to put in food storage!!)

& I used my $10 off $50 purchase Baby Club Coupon from Winn-Dixie!!

As you can see I got basic stuff or what was on sale-I already have a stockpile of everything I need to make dinner & I always freeze meat!

& I just got contacted from Arquest to do the pullup diaper study-whoo hoo!!!

Stockpiling & Ideas on How to Organize!

My bathroom closet! I was so proud that I finally decided to organize it better! I found the colorful box at a garage sale & had some already & bought the rest from Big Lots-I have over 20 body washes-I wish something else would be a money maker! I have 2 containers filled with floss & toothbrushes-I don't think I will ever have to buy that again!
I decided to take some pictures of how I organize things so I hope you find it helpful! Any other ideas-post a comment! This is where I tape all my recipes that I use a lot-saves a lot of time!
This is just an example of what I have talked about-I tape a piece of paper with what I have in the cabinets with the expiration date!
My cereal stockpile is getting low! I usually write the dates on the front with a permanent marker so I can see better when they expire.
I LOVE my can organizers & as you can see I still need more room! I do have an empty row because I need more diced tomatoes-I am patiently waiting for a good deal!
Part of my pantry! Lots of stockpile! My husband goes through oats so fast! I got these for $1.52 each at Target-they have a shelf life of 1 year+
I should have made it more neat before taking a pic! But I love this door organizer-it hooks over the door & I got it for around $20 at Wal-Mart. I keep commonly used things on it like sandwich bags, trash bags, medicines, peanut butter & bread...
Yeah my medicine cabinet needs a lot of organizing! But I keep it in a small plastic container which has been great! Shoe boxes also work great for organizing & they are FREE!
I found this at Home Depot for $2-$3-It holds a lot of oatmeal packets!

Back in April of 2010, I posted about a company called Arquest. For all of you new Hip2Save readers, Arquest manufactures store brand diapers and arranges different diaper studies on a regular basis. And the best part is that if you qualify for one of their diaper studies, you can snag FREE diapers and you even get paid for your participation!

As of now, they’re currently looking for boys or girls wearing size 4 diapers. To see if you qualify for one of the studies, you’ll need to call 1-888-342-7372 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting 1-888-342-7372 end_of_the_skype_highlighting ext. 646 or ext. 633 (girl’s diapers) or 1-888-342-7372 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting 1-888-342-7372 end_of_the_skype_highlighting ext. 634 (boy’s diapers). You will most likely hear a recorded message asking you to leave your name and call back phone number.

If you do in fact qualify, the company will send you between 1-6 bags of FREE diapers! Sweet, huh? Plus, after completing a survey (based on your experience with the particular diapers) you’ll receive a $10 check! Yay! :)

In addition, Arquest will be doing a study for pull ups (32-40 pounds) in July and possibly a study for overnights (65-85 pounds) as well. If you want to be added to the list for any of these studies, call the number and extensions listed above.

*Note that these studies are available in the lower 48 states only.

Let us know if you qualify for either of these studies!

Thanks Hip 2 Save!

Funny that I was just thinking about this the other day! But they are no longer taking people for the size 4 diapers (bummer for me!!), but are for the training pants so hurry & call if you got a little one in them! I did do this a year ago-& it was easy & fun trying different diapers-you did have surveys to fill out & then I received a $10 check afterwards!

CVS Money Maker!

The Gilette or Old Spice Body Wash is a limit of 2 this week (well at least as of yesterday). I had a $2 off $6 Body Care Coupon that printed out from the Coupon Machine at CVS last week & I used the BOGO Old Spice Coupon so it was a $6 Money Maker for me! Here is an example to clarify it more:

Old Spice Body Wash (got 2 at $4 each)= $8
Used BOGO coupon which took off $4
Used CVS coupon which took off $2
So total was $2 & I got a $8 EB so that was a $6 MM!

THE 32 OZ IS $5.99 AT PUBLIX IF THERE ARE ALL OUT OF THE 16 OZ SO STILL A GREAT DEAL!

Suite 400
St. Augustine, Florida 32095
$149 Helicopter Tour for up to Three People from Old City Helicopters (Up to $255 Value)

For centuries humans have envied birds' innate ability to fly and to form eloquent arguments on the pros and cons of synthetic butter. Today's Groupon gives you one of those enviable abilities: for $149, you get a Porpoise Point and Old Downtown helicopter tour for up to three people from Old City Helicopters, up to a $255 value. The tour covers approximately 17 miles of airspace; allow about 30 minutes for the entire tour, which includes prep time, take-off, the flight itself, and landing.

Tours lift off from the St. Augustine Airport , flying low and fast south over the Florida coast to Porpoise Point, then crossing the inlet to view the sights of Anastasia Island. You'll enjoy unobstructed views from your window seat in the hover vessel as you pass over the candy-striped St. Augustine Lighthouse and the Spanish 17th-century Castillo de San Marcos fortress before fluttering west over St. Augustine's old downtown. After you see the city sights, you'll swing around north for a final scenic drift along the beach before returning to the St. Augustine Airport, with a sense of sweetness and light from the airy adventure, but all your hairs refreshingly un-windblown.

The friendly tour guides are local pilots and certified flight instructors with extensive civilian piloting experience. Impress your congressional representative with an airborne adventure, or gift this Groupon to your favorite set of triplets for a fun-filled trip over old downtown.

Call ahead to schedule your tour, and make sure to mention your Groupon. Weight restrictions may apply-see the Old City site for details.

Question from Reader:

I have had a few people ask me about the Nickelodeon Hotel in Orlando lately so figured I would share this!

Question: i wanted to ask you some questions about the nick hotel. i want to take the family there sometime this summer. were you able to find good deals when you went?

My Answer: I always just do the deal on travelzoo-last time it was $99 & you got a 2 bedroom suite & a $20 resort credit-u can also get the orange armband (i think that is the color)-and you get 10% off food for being a FL resident. but resort fee is $25 & taxes so i think it was around $130? and then we had the $20 credit which we just used on food so I said it was about $110 for the hotel. We never left the hotel-just got there by 1 the day we checked in (you just go to the front desk, they give you the arm bands since you HAVE to wear them & there are people that walk around to see & then if your room is not ready then they call you on your cell phone when it is) and then we left late in the afternoon so it's plenty of time to me to just stay 1 night-u have to check out by noon so we just changed in the bathroom before we left that day.

Some Tips:
You have to be a certain height to ride the slides so if your children are not that tall then I would recommend waiting to go until they are, but you can walk up & play, they just can't slide down, there is a big pool & a kiddie area (we did sneak my daughter to slide down the small slide up front we eventually got caught!). They also have basketball courts, mini golf & a jacuzzi. They have 2 pools but I would check when it is opened when you go-it wasn't opened at all when we went this past time as it was just opened on the weekend-it is a fun pool. The show is worth going to & different characters are there each day & is usually the same for a month so you can probably call the front desk & find out when the certain character will be there that your child would want to meet (like Spongebob or Dora). On the weekends they usually do a dive in movie which is really neat (they put a huge tv screen near the pool & you get to watch a movie! They also have fun poolside games twice a day! And they have life jackets & towels at the pool side that you rent so you don't have to worry about swimmies! They give you a schedule when you check in so pay attention to it so you can take advantage of everything!

We have been several times & have a blast each time we go-I just don't think it is worth the money if you have younger children that would want to do the slides but aren't tall enough! I'm sure it says on the website what the height requirement is I assume 44 inches. All in all I think it is a great hotel & I love how you don't have to leave to go anywhere-it is very clean! The 2 bedroom suites are so nice & have 3 tv's in them! I think if u can find a cheap deal like u usually can on travelzoo.com, it is worth it for your family to go to a waterpark & stay in a hotel. They have a huge arcade room & a few places to eat-Subway (which does not participate in the $5 footlongs), Uno & a grill. The cheapest route for us was getting subway even though every time I go I always get a personal pan Uno pizza for myself since they are so good! But most kids want pizza so I got my kids the meatball sub & called it a pizza & they were happy!

Oh & they do, do special things for birthdays (even for adults)-as long as it is within the month (you are suppose to bring a birth certificate but I forgot to for my son) & they do a special birthday party where they get to meet spongebob personally & get a cupcake! My son thought that was so cool last year!! The pool is heated in the cooler months but not the slides which the water is FREEZING!

Hope this is helpful info! I'm not sure if they'll be running any summer specials-one I have seen before was buy 2 nights get the third one free, I usually just see the $99 deal during the fall or before school gets out (we just went last month). I signed up for their emails & you can find out deals that way which you can do on their website! You can find out tons of info on there too!

Tab's Tips Thursdays!

I have this posted on my blog on the right hand side but I have heard from several people lately that these activities are great-I have not gone before but may go & check it out!

~Free Concerts at the City Plaza: Memorial Day – Labor Day, every Thursday evening in the Plaza de la ConstituciĆ³n, (I guess it is also referred to as the square) downtown St. Augustine. All you need is your chair! To view the schedule go to www.plazaconcerts.com.

~Music by the Sea Concert Series: Every Wednesday, mid May – mid October at the St. Augustine Beach Pier Pavilion. Free concerts and local restaurants offering dinners for sale at the Pavilion. Bring your beach chair and coolers, it’s great for all ages.

Another reason to sign up for Baby Clubs!

Yeah-I am up a little late-couldn't fall asleep thinking about my bike that was stolen today! Me & my son rode up to our clubhouse to exercise/swim & parked it close the pool gate & when we went to leave it was gone! I can't believe someone came that close & stole something-first day of school being out (hate to blame it on teenagers but I just assume it was one!)

Back to my point of the post: I got this in the mail today-3 coupons from Winn-Dixie that I can use at Publix! This is for babies up to 2 years old & then Publix has a Preschool Pals program up to age 5 which sends you lots of coupons too! You have to sign up for it once your child turns 2! If you can't see the coupons they are for FREE 12 ct cupcakes, FREE 12 ct ice cream cups & $10 off $50 purchase!

Tab's Tips Thursdays (a little late!)

I forgot to post my tip for yesterday! So here is a quick little tip about grocery shopping with kids: Now, if possible I would highly recommend going without them, but if you have to these are some ways I get through it & stay sane! My kids love getting a cookie & a balloon at Publix (balloons are in the florist section & free)-my son tries to hit the signs hanging with it so that keeps him busy-they love driving the carts around (I know Publix & Winn-Dixie have the double ones, Food Lion has the cars in the bottom). My son (who is almost 6) will bring his leapster in to play which is a huge help if I just have one kid with me! If you have extra time it's fun to get the kids involved-my son loves to shuck corn or help me pick out apples or lift the "heavy" stuff since he thinks he is soooo strong!! If you have an older child, they can mark things off your list for you...But snacks are always great to bring (just make sure you pack the ones that will take a while to eat!) & dum-dums are always great!! Just make sure you have all your coupons together before you go to check out to make it easier & remember if you ever forget to use a coupon, you can always bring your receipt back & coupons & they will honor them (I have never had a problem doing that).

    Medco Healthstore UPDATE!!

Hopefully some of you were able to order from the Medco Health Store-I was helping my dad place an order tonite & neither code worked anymore but I found another one FIRST10 (for your first order). The TENOFF no longer works or the MHS10 (for first order). He ordered some coconut oil & just paid .99 shipping! There are so many great finds so if you haven't done it yet-do it! I already got my shipment confirmation today!! And you don't have to get your order exactly $10-if you get an item for $7 it still uses the code & you just pay shipping!

    Storytimes are back!

The storytimes are back at the Main Library! They are on Thursdays-Baby Time is at 10:15 & Storytime for Toddlers/Preschoolers is at 11:00. & Be sure to grab a flyer when you are there to find out all the events for the summer reading program! These are offered at ALL the branches-I "think" next Tuesday at 2pm the Jacksonville Zoo is coming to the Main Library. You can probably view the events at online at www.sjcpls.org.

It is a great program & I have been doing it the last 5 years!! A lot of it is educational-it is more for older kids since it is geared for the ones out of school. The Main Library always ends the summer program with an Ice Cream Party & you get to pick out a brand new book-but I'm not sure if they will be doing it this year as they have had lots of budget cuts.

And don't forget Home Depot has their Kids Workshop tomorrow! Always the first Saturday of each month!!

    Thursday, June 3, 2010

Wahoo! Here’s another awesome Online bargain you can score! Medco Health Store is offering up a coupon code valid for $10 off any order! Just use coupon code MHS10 at checkout! …AND get this– shipping is only $0.99!

There are lots of products to choose from, so take your time to browse around…. but NOT too much time (as I don’t know how long this coupon code is valid)!

    Thanks Hip2Save!

This is legit-I think! I called & spoke to them-another code you can use if you want to place a second order is TENOFF. There are lots of great deals! You can get food-I ordered a pack of diapers for $1.49 (including shipping!) & 28 piece of First Years feeding set & Baby Mum-Mums for $1.47 (including shipping) for my second order!

    Other great things I saw:
Bjorn potty chair (to keep in the car) is .99 (u just pay shipping), wipes/diapers are way cheap, there are southbeach diet bars, atkins bars or clif bars for way cheap! And also toilet paper is .99 (just pay shipping).

I was so excited when I opened my mailbox today! I got my free recyclable bag with coupons, my free coupons from Kraft, my coupons from Publix from the baby club, my free $5 off a purchase of $30 coupon at Winn-Dixie from Recycle Bank (which I will prob use at Publix!), my free Kiwi magazine (which I actually do read since it has great tips/recipe ideas that are organic & has coupons in it) & my free Butterfinger coupon!

There are lots of free subscriptions to magazines & even if you don't have time to read them, I recommend getting them because a lot of them have coupons in them! & you can always bring the magazines to your work or a dr office-I would just make sure you cut your address off first!

Firehouse Subs free Sub on your Birthday!

Some of you may have got the postcard in the mail, but as of July 1st Firehouse Subs is no longer mailing the postcards out with the "free medium sub" on your birthday, now you have to go in on your actual birthday & show your I.D. & you can get the sub!

    Cheap Cereal at Target!

Fiber One Cereal is on sale for $2.50 at Target & you get a $5 Gift Card if you buy 5 of them & there are .75 coupons on coupons.com for the Fiber One Bran cereal, Fiber One Raisin Bran, Fiber One Shredded Wheat & Fiber One Honey Clusters so that is a total of 8 coupons that you can print per computer!!

So if you only have 1 computer & print out 5 coupons you will only pay .75 a box!!! I now have 49 boxes of unopened cereal after doing that deal today (no I did not buy that many today!! if anyone has been in my pantry knows I have rows of cereal stocked up to the ceiling!)-I think you can say I am definitely OVERSTOCKED on cereal!! My husband eats it sometimes twice a day so it goes pretty fast in our house & I use some cereal for snacks since it is cheaper than buying other snack food & it doesn't usually expire for a year!

If they are all out-ask a clerk & there is a big chance there is some in the back since there are no rainchecks on it!
