Grocery Store Tips! When an item is on sale 3 for $5 you typically do not have to get 3 items to get the sale price. At Food Lion here in our area, their buy one get one free items ring up half price, so you don’t have to get 2! If you have a baby- Sign up for Baby Clubs at Food Lion, Winn-Dixie & Publix-they send you free stuff and coupons! Publix also has a program called Preschool Pals for children up to 5 which send money saving coupons and fun things for the kids. Don’t forget about rainchecks if an item is out of stock. At Winn-Dixie you have 30 days to use them, Food Lion, CVS, Walgreens, & Publix has no expiration date (although I was told that once Publix runs out of their current rainchecks, they will expire in 30 days). Check the circulars or counters in store for coupons, and around the store-there are free coupons all throughout the stores in dispensers, so if you typically buy that item-grab a coupon and save it for when it goes on sale! And don't forget you can use 1 coupon PER ITEM! So if the sale is buy one get one free, you can use 2 coupons.
