Tip #8
Take advantage of your local library...free books and free movies! It saves me tons to just let my kids pick out books instead of buying new ones. I also go through the Scholastic flyers schools send home & reserve the ones that look good. And the library gets new movies each week-you can reserve them online and get on the waiting list before they even get released. You may say...I will forget to take them back, the solution to this is to find one that best meets your needs...have a library bag/basket by the door or somewhere it is seen and put books/movies in there when you are finished. You get to keep movies for 3 nights. You can also sign up for library elf at the St Johns County Library which sends out email notices the day before when something is due. Go here to find out more info! If an item isn’t already requested, you can check it out again and extend it even longer, you can do this online or by calling the library. The Main Library here is closed on Sunday, so if you check out a movie on Wednesday, it is due back on Saturday. As long as you have it in the night drop before the library opens the next day it is not late, so you can put it in there Monday morning before 10 and keep it for 5 days! You can also return your items to ANY St. Johns County Library. The library is a great resource! They also have great programs for kids.
