New to finding good deals? I came up with this list of how much I pay for basic necessities/toiletries-I STOCK UP when I see them on sale which I highly recommend-I know I have paper towels for at least a year! So yes it is hard for me when I see a good deal on them and pass it up since I love finding good deals, but I don't have anywhere else to store them-I don't even clip the coupon so I don't have the temptation! But it is so nice to not run out of anything and have to go buy stuff at full price which adds up over time! Prices are just rising too so if you see these things for the price I listed or less...STOCK UP!
TP-no more than .25 for a regular roll (I usually pay anywhere between .12 and .20-this is Quilted Northern, Charmin, Angel Soft, and Scott brand)
Paper Towels-.60 or less each (this is name brand like Brawny, Bounty or Viva)
Napkins-less than .01 each
Toothbrushes-get free
Toothpaste-get free
Razors-get free
Deoderant-get free
Shaving cream-get free or $1 from Dollar Store (bigger can than Wal-Mart's $1 can)
Diapers-no more than .10 each (this is Huggies or Pampers Brand)
Shampoo/Conditioner-get free (this is Loreal Vive, Fructis, Tresemme)
Hairspray/Gel-get free (Fructis Brand)
Body Wash-get free (All random brands)
Laundry Detergent-I usually don't pay more then $2-$3 for a regular size (This is Purex, All, and Tide)
Cleaners-we don't buy anymore and use lemon juice/water or vinegar to clean/sanitize which saves a TON-I clean everything with it....go here for solution (Although I do still buy my magic erasers to clean tough stuff and I buy the Wal-Mart brand and use them over until they are falling apart!). You can even use vinegar as a substitute for fabric softener.
Do you find stuff cheaper or is there anything else I missed-please share!!
Vtech - V.Motion Active Learning System - Pink
Was $69.99, now ONLY $30.87!
Ships FREE!
Great to put up for bday/Christmas-I've seen these at thrift stores for $30!

CVS
CVS has free soyjoys next week-Yum! A lot of people don't like these-but my family eats them-the pink wrapper ones are the best-you can make $1 profit if you go here to print a coupon (have to purchase 5).
There is a limit of 5 deals per household...so deal scenario:
1st transaction: Buy 8 bars-use $1 coupon-pay $7 out of pocket (unless have extra bucks).
2nd transaction: Buy 8 bars-use $1 coupon (will need to get something else for $1) and give $8 EB=FREE
Then you are left with $8 extra buck-which I wouldn't prefer because I have a hard time spending that much!
So I would do 5 different transactions-yeah a pain for the cashier-but some are really nice and don't mind-If there is a line behind me I let them go first and wait...
So 1st transaction: Buy 4 bars-pay $4 out of pocket (unless you have EB to spend)
2nd transaction: Buy 4 bars use $4 EB=FREE
3rd transaction: Buy 4 bars use $4 EB=FREE
Walgreens
Not much at Walgreens next week on sale-
Aquafresh toothpaste is free after RR and you can go here to get a $1 coupon so $1 profit!
Walgreens brand Spring Water is 2.99 for 24 pack
Idea to ring up:
Buy Aquafresh Toothpaste for $3
Use $1 coupon=
=$2 out of pocket
Then buy water (if need it) $2.99
and filler item (RR is for $3 so won't ring through) Ex: caramels near register .05, candy bars on sale for .49 that week.
Use $3 RR
=amount paid for filler item
If you don't need water then use the $3 RR at Publix!

Trial Size Freebies!
Vaseline Aloe Fresh Lotion is also free at Target (costs .97 each) in the trial sizes if you have $1.25 coupon from 5/17 RP...(Thanks It's Hip 2 Save!)
I had a hard time last time I tried to get trial sizes for free at Target but wasn't in the mood to argue with the cashier so just brought up the coupons to the customer service desk and they gave me the money back for the coupons!
But other things I have got for free in trial sizes-at CVS the Schick disposable razors are free after coupons (they were .97 and I had a $2 coupon and it went through so $1 overage!), Hefty one zip travel bags are .97 and there is a $1 coupon so those are free at CVS, I've got Johnson's First Aid Kits free, travel size huggies wipes for free (there are coupons for $1 off Huggies Bath & Body Product that I get in the mail), Dove facial wipes free ($1 coupons for Dove face wash product)....and tons more-just scope out your trial size aisles at the stores and you'll be surprised what you get for free....as long as the coupon doesn't say "exclude trial sizes" you can use the coupon! And of course I love to get my Johnson Buddies Soap for free (after $1 coupon for Johnson & Johnson product). They are .97 at Walmart & Target.
Thanks Charlotte for pointing that out!
Another Food Lion Deal
Winn-Dixie has Arnold's bread BOGO (you can call them and they send out coupons once a year), and Ronzoni Smart Taste Pasta is BOGO and there is $1 coupon from the 4/5 SS insert which would make them around .15 a box if you have 2 coupons!
Friday, June 12, 2009
Another good deal to be found at Publix…Hefty Storage and Freezer Bags are $1.79 for 13 and 17 bags respectively. There is a Smart Source coupon in front of them for $1.00. In addition, the publix at the beach uses the peelie on them for an additional $.20 off. Final cost…$.59! The coupon is good until 9/30/09 so grab a few extra to use in the next few months!
Thanks Judi!

Neutrogena deal-In the Advantage Ad on the circular in Publix there is a $2 off Neutrogena Suncare item and there is a booklet with a $2 off coupon...it was next to the sunscreen and Walgreens and CVS has them in the cosmetic area....the tube was 6.49-so 2.49 for a tube is a good deal compared to other brands...I had a $3 off from CVS that printed out and I got the sport sunscreen (7.99) and paid $1 after all coupons!
Plenty more deals...go here to view ad!

Saw this on Southern Savers website-not sure if it will work but worth the try!
**UPDATE-From reading comments sounds like extra bucks are NOT printing, some managers are printing them out or telling customers to call corporate...so not sure if all CVS's will accept it or not...If they refuse to print the E.B. then ask them to call corporate because they can print them out on their own!
CVS has a great deal mentioned on their website that will start tomorrow. This is not advertised anywhere, so go here and print the screen to take it in with you to prove the deal if needed.

This is a post from someone...email her at wampler1@bellsouth.net if you are interested in the makeup...
Another good site which I always buy certain things from is www.cosmesticcop.com . Her name is Paula Begoun and she has an article in the Sunday paper every week about makeup. She makes her own line and it is very inexpensive. I buy the blush, and sunscreen lotion/moisturizer. It is a 6 oz. tube and sells for about $15. I wear it everyday under my makeup. I am going to get the AHA/BHA products next for exfoliating your skin. I tried to get a group of people together to place an order for $250. If you place an order for $250, you would get future orders at 40% off retail with a minimum purchase of $100. Wouldn’t it be nice to get a group of girls together to place an order a couple times a year? She also wrote several books called “Don’t Go To The Cosmetic Counter Without Me”. Her products are fully guaranteed and are very reasonable and large quantity tubes.
Was up in Jax today. Anyone looking for a good middle eastern food store should go to the one on SR 13 near Baymeadows Rd. I bought FRESH pita bread for $1.85 and the ingredients to make homemade hummus. YUM YUM!! After I make my Publix run tonight, I will make some. I have a recipe from an old Lebanese woman that is fantastic!
Library Summer Activities!
Their summer reading program starts now! So go in the library and pick up a bag and start keeping the reading log...each time your child reads or you read to your child you mark in on the chart and for every 5 days your child gets a prize...last year they had free food items...such as free kid's meal from Chick Fil A, free hamburger at McDonald's...The summer program at the Main Library is every Tuesday at 2 pm and you can view all the upcoming events here! All St Johns County Branches participate and it is at different times/days which you can view on the website.
Barnes & Nobles has storytime every Wednesday at 10:30 here in St. Augustine. You can view the times/days for the ones in Jacksonville here. They also have a great summer reading program-if you child reads 8 books they get a free book! Go here to find out more details!
TARGET
I also had $1 off Hefty trash bags and $1 off Target coupon...so got 80 13 gallon trash bags for $5...not an awesome deal but still cheaper than buying regularly.
If you have coupons still for Dove facial product $1 off you can get the face wipes in the travel aisle for free (they are .97)...
Target brand cream of chicken soup is about .20 a can cheaper than Wal-Mart-I always assume Wal-Mart is the cheapest!
And Target also has $1 coupons for Archer Farm's chips...which would make them 1.89 a bag (they go on sale often). You can view their coupons on their site or just print them from the kiosk where you print registries in the store and save on ink and paper!!
They have a lot of stuff on clearance too over by the patio stuff...I saw a box of diapers regularly $30 for $20 and they have other stuff...it is only marked at 15% off right now so I am sure it will go down more.
And I forgot to mention yesterday Wal-Mart had a grocery cart near the pharmacy that everything was .50-a lot of party items so if you have a birthday party coming up-you can stock up!
